Raise the Barre was founded by Taryn Morris with the goal of creating an online fitness community with a platform to bring live barre classes with that “in-studio feeling” straight to your home that are easily accessible, affordable and most of all fun, interactive and effective.
The classes are streamed off Raise the Barre’s website and each class is saved to our live class library after it goes live & is kept up until our next class goes live, so there is always a class up for you to do. The user friendly live streaming platform gives members the opportunity to login and barre from where ever they are! The live aspect provides members the motivation to get up and workout in real time.
The 1 hour classes are set to upbeat commercial music, that will leave you singing along whilst sculpting and toning. Each exercise uses equipment that you can substitute with household items or it can be done without equipment and will be just as effective.
TARYN MORRIS
Founder and Instructor
Taryn began her barre instructor journey teaching at a studio in Cape Town.
She loved inspiring people daily though high intensity workouts, watching as each person moved closer to achieving their personal goals, this was until the country wide lockdown in her home South Africa.
As a result people could no longer leave their homes to come to barre but she did not see that as a reason to stop so she decided to bring barre to them!
Taryn's goal for RTB is to allow members to achieve their fitness goals from the comfort of their own homes. Promising an in studio, interactive experience that will leave you seeing results & having fun whilst working out.
Taryn's classes are known for their high energy, fun music and most of all a good full body workout which will leave you feeling the burn & seeing the sweat!
STORM BARRY
Instructor
Storm Barry is a 27 year old qualified attorney who is also a qualified yoga instructor. Storm completed her instructor training course through Raise the Barre and passed with flying colours!
Her passion and drive shines through everything she does and she is the perfect addition to the Raise the Barre family.
Storm's classes are known for their ballet inspired moves and she will get those muscles toned by focusing on intrinsic movements with particular focus on technique & form.
Taryn Kerr 'TK'
Instructor
Taryn Kerr 'TK' is a Royal Academy of Dance trained ballet dancer. Her fitness instructor journey began in University, where she studied Health and Medical Journalism with a specific interest in how exercise can be used to treat depression and anxiety. After starting an all-female fitness bootcamp, she progressed to teaching High Intensity Interval Training at well known facilities in Johannesburg.
Her interest in fitness spans from pilates to ultra distance triathlons, to yoga and trail running. Raise the Barre has helped her rediscover her love for dance and how the human body responds to movement. She believes that RTB allows people to find the fun in fitness, with particular focus on form & technique.
She hopes to share her passion for fitness with the RTB family & wants to make a positive impact on each individual's fitness journey.
